About The Catering Desk
The honest, operator-first publication about AI for food businesses — written for the owner with twelve staff and no IT department.
What this is
The Catering Desk is an independent publication about using AI in catering and restaurants — written for operators, not for the vendors we cover.
How it's made
Researched and outlined with AI tools. Written and edited by a human. AI helps us research and draft faster. It never gets the last word — a person reads and signs off on everything before it runs.
The one promise that matters
We take no money from the vendors we cover. If we ever sell our own tool, you'll hear it from us first. No sponsorships from the tools we review, no affiliate kickbacks steering a verdict, no pay-to-play. When you read that something is or isn't worth your money here, that judgment isn't for sale, and if that ever changes you'll see it on page one before anything else.
What we won't do
- We won't claim a benchmark we can't back with real operator data. Until enough owners have shared their numbers (25+ verified), you'll see "insufficient data," not a made-up industry average.
- We won't use fake scarcity, countdown timers, or "only 3 left" theater. Ever.
- We won't put AI in front of your guests and call it a feature. The best AI in a food business is invisible and in the back office.
